25. April , Day of liberation and end of the fascist dictatorship in Italy . What to do at the national day ? After Auer on the popular market of Piazza San Marco or nevertheless rather do something for the physical and mental well being over ?
The decision is easy at least for us both . We draw a nice long walk through the flora of South Tyrol the hustle and bustle of a known and beautiful , but often experienced market in . That was some years ago different . Today means hiking relax from everyday stress for both of us , South Tyrol with eyes , Noses and ears experience and enjoy and evening feeling good , to have something "done" .
So where ? Too high, is not possible yet , If we want to have it pleasantly warm . To approximately 700 Altitude would be ideal . Fast times on the Alto Adige map look , where we still weren't . Aha, Tisens and Völlan above Lana , not far away from the Gampenpass Street , would not be bad .

St . Hippolytus Church in Tisens
So after Tisens . We go over the mebo to Lana , Next on the Gampenpassstraße , over at the turn-off Tisens Völlan . We could leave one hundred meters from the junction right gravel parking the car , but we prefer Postplatz after Tisenes (turn left ) over , order from our today's Spaziergang to start . I call these hike simply walk , are there only about 450 metres ahead .
At about 9.30 we start our hike at the entrance to Tisens . We follow the signs St . Hippolyth Church , hiking in North . The walk takes us along a street , past flourishing Apple systems . Here oben stehen die Apfelbäume nor in voller Blüte .

Occasionally you can find a PEAR in the middle of the Apple boxes
After 5 We are minutes at boarding house , Apartments and Restaurant Liesy over . Right next to the hut , hydraulikpresse quickly on the large panoramic map and then light left (right of the hut Liesy ) following the path , wandern We in the direction of St . Hippolytus Church next . It is now a little through the forest , then along at orchards in bloom .
After another 10 We cross the Gampenpassstraße and the aforementioned gravel parking minutes . Here too we find a large panoramic table . A forest bar blocks the way the drivers . For us hiker of course is no obstacle . The forest road (Route number 5) leads us directly to the Saint Hippolytus Kirche . Very light forest surrounded our way . It is pleasantly warm . The forest is always lights , the trees less . Apparently we are on very slopes ground . The up hiking Hill looks pretty much the same as Castelfeder in the South Tyrolean Unterland . An almost Mediterranean-style landscape .
After a total 30 Minutes and only 100 We are facing the altitude St . Hippolytus Church , the man also by the Etschtal can see up well .
St . Hippolytus church history
The Church St . Hippolytus is 1286 erstamls mentioned , How old it really is , but uncertain . Probably it was built on the remains of ancient pre-Christian worship . Also the Lombard Castle Tesena , derives from the name of the place Tisens , could come as a predecessor of the Church in question . Paul mentioned in its “Vita Langobardorum ” the name Tesena and a sanctuary , which was dedicated to Saint Hippolytus , on the Hill (Gorice ) by Tesena . Today the Messnerhaus beneath the Church and of course the Church itself is , that can be seen until far in the Adige Valley .
360° Photo St. Hippolytus Church and Merano and the Adige Valley views

360° Photo St. Hippolytus Tisens hill overlooking the Adige Valley (Lana , Meran , Dorf Tirol , Schenna , Burgstall , Garagzon )
Us we see that Saladin Castle , slightly to the left Lana , behind the Spa town of Merano and again followed by Dorf Tirol und Schenna , as well as the entrance to the Val Passiria . On the other side of the Val D'adige Valley at the foot of the plateau Meran 2000, Hafling , Vöran , Mölten , San Genesio are Burgstall and Gargazon .
Now a beautiful path through Rocky stairs on the northern slope of the Hill in the forest leads down us . We hike through dense mixed forest towards Völlan . At a crossroads, we leave the way N . 5, Sub Moarhof, turn left in direction , Upper Dolomitengolf and Völlan from . First we visited the path no. . 7, then the hiking path no. . 8, the US managed fields , past the upper Valley Mill Inn in the Centre of the small village Völlan brings . From here you can Laugenspitze see , the we in total fog and a "unbelievable" (= strong ) Wind in the past year have climbed .

Shortly before Völlan
Now we will walk along the Gampenpass road towards Lana , over at the Mayenburg and turn after the Turmwirt , compared to the 4 Star Hotel Waldhof (an architecturally pretty striking hotel ) right now . Now we are on a secondary road , down runs us through fields Gampenpass Street .
We go 100 Meters North up to the St . George Church over and look at the Church and the views , then we repent and walk a few metres down Gampenpassstraße along , before we get started in the path no. . 1 To find , the us through the forest up to the Brandiswaalweg in Lana .
Here we have been a few years ago , as we Marling which Brandis-Waal up here are walking . A few metres ahead that would Restaurant Waalwege locking are . Actually it is .
Restaurant Waalwege locking
We are on the large sunny terrace of the restaurant Waalwege locking the fam . Unterholzner down . Of course I'm hungry . The best friend of all less . I order : Pork medallions with asparagus , Bolzano sauce and potatoes , they a mixed salad . The food is excellent ! Perfectly roasted medallions to the point , the asparagus no little Woody , but soft and very geschmackig , the potatoes carefully correctly and the Bolzano sauce (Although I'm not a fan ) creamy without lumps .
Merano Lana golf course – Gutshof Brandis
After lunch at restaurant River Waal rest we walk further South to the Brandisweg No. . 13 and see a large sign : Golfclup Lana – Gutshof Brandis . Did not know , Lana has a golf course .

Golfclub Gutshof Brandis - Golf club Lana , Meran , South Tyrol
While the golfers beat their balls over the golf course and roll , We both walk straight on the Hiking trail No. . 5A line under the Brandis ruins over . The trail is at the same time a Cloister and thus we a small little estimate , how far it will still be . Chapel Roman one , Chapel Roman two , Chapel Roman three etc . "How much stations has a cloister" ?"Twelve or fourteen" ?"" Fourteen natural "" , I have quite puzzled , jede Woche in which that Kirche von allen gehende best Freundin , aufklären .
Before us a family over a wall looks down banned left off of the road . What will as well be interesting . Aha, as animals are in a cage . Yes real are Deer ! Wau , have never seen deer in the wild . OK , This also does not apply , because although the enclosure located in the Woods and is very large , It is still an enclosure and nix with wild .

Deer in a compound near the Golf Club Gutshof Brandis
The male deer is called a harem of approximately 7 Partially his own and sits quite unconcerned , total without shyness , even on the ground , as I myself with my camera pretty grid of the enclosure more . Seemingly curious two legged is used .
Our walk continues that approximately 450 Altitude , slightly above the Saladin Castle , high up after Tisens . At the hut Liesy joins our Circular hike . Now there are only 5 min after Tisens where we parked our car .
A very nice and especially varied hike. We are partly through orchards , some hiked through forest , have seen churches and castles , are passed to a path and a golf course and have seen even first deer .
Tisens Völlan Lana e Tesimo hike is especially in the Spring and recommend autumn , as with approximately 700 m above sea level it offers the ideal hiking temperature .

Hiking in South Tyrol , is my hobby . Usually the best wife of all and I are on the way on easy hiking trails . While the camera of course never fails . On this blog you can watch the result of our hikes .
