Snowshoeing to Stoanernen Mandln (Flaas / Jenesien / South Tyrol )

We were ever in the summer when the Stoanernen Mandln . Today we want hike as Schneeschuhwanderung Try again. So first we drive through Bolzano through, continue to Jenesien , continue to Flaas , a small, far from nearby group of San Genesio, and then even further to almost a few hundred metres before the Jenesiener Jöchl Alm. The street is here snow covered and icy, Therefore, the best friend of all until the end of the road will go.

We now have the icy road up to the Jenesiener Jöchl ALM along hiking. Fortunately, they offer Snow shoes a pretty good grip on icy surface. After approximately 20 Be minutes we see the slightly right below of the way the log cabin Jenesinger Jöchl Alm.

We wandern the path Nr. 5 along the forest road, pass through a forest bar, trudging step by step with our Snowshoes further and keep us at a fork in the road left. Now we meet at a crossroads, What us the way: Stoanerne Mandln has. We turn left and follow the path n °. 23(B).

Grtsch, grtsch, grtsch… snowshoe hiking is unfortunately nothing with absolute peace and quiet. The footsteps through the snow is rather noisy, the Wollmützen sit deep, that is why you cannot understand the words of its companion. We therefore walk in single file, silently, The step by step stone men opposed to.

A high plateau stretches before our eyes. In the distance, we are already the Stoanernen Mandln (little men made of stone). Now we have to cross a Valley so first behind rise and then on the other hand high stapfen. The ascent is the most stringent part of the hike, is not all too long.

After approximately 1,5 Hours are a few metres before the at a crossroads summits at . From here you may down until after Sarnthein see . Still 5 Minutes and it's done. We are in the Stoanernen Mandln (about 2.000 m) at , "where is this also many"Mandln "are of flesh and blood". Apparently many others have, in particular, Italian, Snowshoe walkers had the same idea.

The view is top: Sassolungo , Plattkofel , Schlern , Rose garden , Latemar , Weißhorn , Schwarzhorn , Unterland , Mendel mountain with Roen , behind the the summit high of Brenta-Group and the Ortler-Group with the National Park of Stelvio pass, Texelgruppe , Ötztal Alps, Sarntal Alps .

After the great Panoramic view We climb on the way no.. 23 to the Möltner Kaser Alm (1.766 m) from . Unfortunately, that is Cottage not open. We walk left her past and go about 30 min long Jenesinger Jöchl back.

The stomachs Growl, so we return in the wooden house of Jenesiner Jöchl and order cabbage with sausage and dumplings. After food and drink we embark on. It is four o'clock already, but the sun still shines. Our starting point is still 20 min we projected to move despite street with snowshoes, because it is still pretty icy.

Very nice Schneeschuhwanderung with a great all-round-Panoramic view. The way is for Snowshoe walkers well groomed. With the Jenesinger Jöchl a refreshment stop possible is given also in winter. All in all a wonderful for the snowshoe hiking!

    Hi Monika,

Thanks for the compliment. Now I must “only” still be careful, I hope enough time and energy for the filling for all three blogs. While hiking, the topics are indeed no problem, but write the time for the article is unfortunately not always there… I see you have posted already diligently in February. Bravo! That reminds me, I would have to submit two walks.
