Hiking in the nature park Puez-Odle - Gardena Valley / Dolomites

To the Puez or to the Geisler-Spitzen? Is not an easy decision. Since we at the foot of the Geisler have you ever had, We decide today for the Puez with the Puezspitzen (Pizes de Puez, 2.913m).

Im Herzen der Südtiroler Dolomiten: Naturpark Puez-Geisler mit Crespeina See.

In the heart of South Tyrol!: Puez Geisler Nature Park with Crespeina Lake.

Travel is made by the Gardena (Val Gardena), past St . Ulrich until after St . Christina. Here a little surprise awaits us: the 5th Sellaronda bike day blocked from proceeding. Today is Sella Ronda apparently reserved for cyclists. For us this means St. Christina, turn left and on a side street until after Selva Gardena continue, What is immediately as ideal, because the street signs lead us directly to our planned destination in the Langental into. A parking is located at the end of the Maggiore Valley Road (4 Euro for the whole day). The starting point of our today's Dolomites hiking is reached.

Through the Val Gardena United Valley

La Ciayota and 1.620 m is available on my Hiking map. Let's go through the right and left of the mighty rock formations of the Nature park Puez Geisler flanked United Valley. The trail Nr. 14 through the United Valley is flat and wide, Nevertheless we want to go too fast, to burn all of our energies in advance.

Lights forest, high trees, Tree free meadows, the mighty mountains provide a striking contrast right and left. The best wife thinks, the area would ideal to play for their students at a may trip here in the United, but unfortunately it is on 1.700 m in may be still pretty cool. After approximately 40 min and 3 We have managed only a few meters km. A larger field spreads out before our eyes. A crossroads, a cow calf and a hut complete the picture. My card called the pasture with “PRA da RI“.

Mitten im Langental

Located in the United

Hiking signs present us with the decision: straight on along the Locarno Valley Brook (Rio Puez) further wandern, to at the end of the Valley to the Puez Hütte (Appartamenti de Puez, Rifugio Puez) to move or turn left and the trail Nr. 16 folgen , runs the first up on the Puez plateau and then in the Dolomites Höhenweg No. . 2 empties, which leads to the Puez hut.

We choose and for latter and now wander the steeper becoming path upwards. The Alpine roses side of the road are more common, the forest lights, It takes not long until we have reached the tree line and thus the Rocky section of the hiking tour.

Aufstieg vom Langental zum Puez Hochplateau

Rise of the Maggiore Valley to the Puez plateau

The trail is well developed, not particularly exposed to, Occasionally we may climb even over wooden steps. Sweating, because it is very hot, We hike chatting, no more discussing (We have come to terms with a lot, last week was not exactly a model of a perfect marriage) on the northern slope of Locarno Valley to the East the Puez massif upwards. It is the game guided conversation, that we--, without having pinned much rather, After a total 2 Hours on the massive Puez plateau on about 2.400 m.

On the Puez plateau

A furry something can look me up: a marmot. Hmmm , Let's see whether the funny Alpine digital capture can be….

Murmeltiere unterm Puez

Marmots in the Puez

The Dolomites Ridgeway Nr. 2 left leads us above the Locarno Valley East, comfortable hut over flat to the Puez.

Laughter from funny Hikers , what it hut become comfortable before the Puez, penetrate our ears. We have focused and how go not straight with blinders, but sharp left turn and hike now in serpentines the rather steep meadow path towards Puezkofel high, the we however right to leave.

Top a slight Ridge, then we cross schottriges area at the foot of the Puezkofel while we on the Dolomites Ridgeway Nr. 2 see hinterunter. Apparently we made a loop, are significantly higher.

Climb to the Puez top

Now begins the most stringent part of today's hike. The average speed is reduced rapidly, We are fighting us up the steep terrain. A Snowfield, which covered our trail, is to circumvent. Not just usual for this time of year. With every step we are slower. Finally to 12.25 Clock is the highest point in the Puez, is it the Puez top with 2.913 m.

Puez top (2.913 m)

As expected, We have a magnificent view. Starting in the North: Peitlerkofel, Piz da Peres, Val Badia , Croda del Becco, Kreuzkofelgruppe with Neuner, Tens , Heiligkreuzkofel , Zwölferkofel, Monte Cristallo, Tofane, Marmolata , Sella Massif with biz BoE, Lagorai, Sassolungo , Rose garden , Schlern , Geisler with Sass Rigais. Everything, What has in the Dolomites anybody, is gathered here.

While I photograph the best wife of all has us in the Summit book registered. 30 We are already above minutes, all alone, before a lonely Wanderer to us is. “I'm right here on the Dolomites Ridgeway Nr. 2?” “No , Here we are on the Puez tip, 500 m over the Dolomites mountain trail.” Because someone has lost probably pretty. For the descent the Rosenheimerin joins us and so we descend beautiful gently step by step to trio Hut to the Puez.

Just before the last piece we cross a compatriot of our companion. We briefly discussed. “Were top on the Puez? What is the way?” “Yes , We were above. The way is not problematic.” Is the Stuttgart, like so many today (is apparently on the Sellaronda bike day) travelling alone, But unlike our companion not only with a camera, but equipped with GPS and map. So is technically equipped way, He advises us even, If we now have the Dolomites Ridgeway Nr. 2 want to switch to the other side of the Valley, Version 2A of the Summit Ćiampac SAS to take. There you should indeed have views. That is an extension of our planned Hiking tour, But if someone with a breathtaking view beckons, can I not resist course.

We say goodbye to the Rosenheimerin just before the Puezhütte and then go to the Puezhütte (2.475 m) a.

Puez Hütte

What is ordered? As always: Dumplings with goulash and a quarter red. I am surprised. Not because it unusual in a bowl is served, but because perfectly spiced stew, the meat tender, the dumplings are firm, just like I like it. I'm especially surprised, because I did not always the best experience in the area Val Gardena on the refuges with food. Is of course a subjective assessment. Environment super, Monitoring well, Food good, What more could you want.

Wenige hundert Meter von der Puez Hütte entfernt

A few hundred metres away from the Puez hut

After a three-fourths hour we break open. Of the Dolomites Ridgeway Nr. 2 We reach the Ciampëi-wort (Furcela de Ćiampëi). A delightfully shallow Hiking trail, of the Maggiore Valley East bypass. Shortly after the notch we follow Option 2A and now wander the steeper becoming path, again and again is riddled with Schneefeldern, Ćiampac to the Summit of SAS to 2.675 m upwards. The climb is not as stringent as those for the Puezspitze, Nevertheless he eating away at our energies.

At Sass Ciampac

To 16:30 Clock is finally done. Now it is only down. The view is wonderful as promised: Sassongher, Val Badia , Colfosco, Corvara, Gardena, Piz Sella BoE and Piz Boè, Sassolungo etc.

360° Kugelpanorama aufgenommen am Sass Ciampac. Herrlicher Ausblick auf alles was in den Dolomiten Rang und Namen hat.

360° Sphere Panorama was added on the Sass Ciampac. A beautiful view of everything in the Dolomites anybody.

Descending through the Chedul Valley

The descent to the Crespëina yoke (Furcela de Crespëina) is soon done. Now it is left You, right of the Mont Seura und Ciastel de Chedul through the Val de Chedul on the hiking trail no. . 12 in the United Valley down. As so often stretches back felt pretty full-length, but for that we can admire a pretty interesting flora from the tree line. Although we us to 2.000 Altitude and the way of Alpine roses is surrounded, you find here still high conifers. Probably the Chedul Valley offers a very special climate, so here, Although theoretically above the tree line, No slippers, but powerful conifer thrive.

The last path leads down fairly steep steps up to the new year's Chapel in the United.

Our starting point is reached. 22 km , 1.670 Altitude difference more difficult Alpine way in the heart of the Dolomites in the Val Gardena Valley are behind us.
Highly recommended UNESCO World Heritage walk with a view to everything, What bzgl. Dolomites anybody has.

    Hello Dietmar

Have found the time finally again to scroll in your walks and am doing the beautiful way in the “Puez-Odle Langental Puez hut” launched. It's always interesting, When you see comments and pictures of tours, the oneself (partial) has already done. Was many years ago, when similar to a beautiful early summer weather on a similar route on the road and since I took the tour at the start of the hiking season mid-June at the opening of the mountain railways, was I curate almost alone on the road. I rarely had such happiness and deep feelings like on this tour, What was the most varied impressions of the day. I took the tour of Selva Gardena, drove train with the Dantercepies ( According to one of the first passengers of the summer season Liftjunge) to the mountain station, spun me to the CIR- and Crespeina Bay high, to then almost completely alone through the “Lunar landscape” to run the Puez plateau to the Puez hut.
I have not done then but the Summit, but stayed with a few guests also at your beloved dumplings (However in the soup) with stunning views in the Langental, long before the hut, before I took the direct steep descent to the Valley.
When hiking through of the first totally secluded Maggiore Valley, I felt very deep gratitude to have such wonderful tours and impressions.
I put me alone in a meadow …………….. and was just happy. At the exit of the Valley I felt but more great happiness, When I families play saw with their children on the meadows, that carefree around tollten in the middle of the mountains and the steep walls. (It was a Sunday afternoon, Therefore many families at the entrance of the Valley).

I've described you as much detail these impressions, because apart from the magnificent mountains just these sentiments are still deep in my memory and this tour to my top 20 include in the South Tyrolean mountains.
Apart from that, your tour images in this tour have become again very grandiose.
You are living lucky dogs in a beautiful country …….., the next time I stop me then again shorter

    Until soon, your
    Charly

  12. Dietmar says:

Charly, When I read your comment then I feel almost like on the tour. Exactly these overwhelming feelings, They later reading, Look and recall, keep coming back, are the adrenaline for us mountain lovers.

Your comment here and – When I look out the window – the Sunrise, This makes with fit for the day :-)

    Greetings
    Dietmar

    P.S.23.
Yes , as South Tyrol you can not deny it. We are lucky dogs!
